Trump claims Iran strikes caused 'total obliteration' in unhinged rant at NATO summit after blasting media as 'scum' Donald Trump has doubled down on his claims that there was "total obliteration" during US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, despite an early US intelligence assessment suggesting the missile attacks only set Iran's nuclear program back by a few months. "I believe it was total obliteration. I believe they didn't have a chance to get anything out because we acted fast," Trump said while addressing reporters at the NATO summit at The Hague. The president also compared the strikes on three of Iran's nuclear sites to the Hiroshima bombing. He said: "That hit ended the war. I don't want to use an example of Hiroshima. I don't want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing, that ended that war. This ended that with the war. If we didn't take that out, they would have been, they'd be fighting right now.” He claimed it would have been "very hard" for Iran to have moved its 400kg stockpile of enriched uranium before the strikes but admitted "they really don't know" when asked about his reaction to the report.
