Glasgow bridge on lockdown as bomb squad rush to scene after 'device' found![]() A bridge in Glasgow has been locked down by police, with a bomb squad called in over a possible "ordnance device". The newly installed Renfrew Bridge spans across the Clyde river in Scotland, linking Renfrew and Yoker. It has now been closed to all traffic and pedestrians after the bomb threat, with people asked to find alternative routes. Authorities were alerted at 10am this morning, reports the Daily Record, after the device was discovered in a nearby building site. A Police Scotland statement read: “Renfrew Bridge is closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a building site nearby. “Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been contacted. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternative routes.” According to LBC, the bridge has now been reopened. The station wrote on X: "Renfrew Bridge has reopened after a suspected explosive device was discovered on a building site. The bomb squad was called to the scene around 10am - which it later deemed to be safe."
