Trump announces Israel-Iran ceasefire; attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar President Donald Trump is seen in The Situation Room on June 21. The White House President Donald Trump announced what he called “a Complete and Total” ceasefire between Israel and Iran in a post on social media Monday evening, which he hopes will become permanent. The ceasefire is set to start in approximately six hours, the president said. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED,” the president wrote on social media. Neither Iran nor Israel has made any comments about a pending ceasefire. The ceasefire will be phased in during the next 24 hours, according to the president’s post. “Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,” the president wrote.
