When incumbent Mayor Eric Adams was indicted on corruption charges last fall, it created a sudden vacuum in the race – and a golden opportunity for someone with Mr. Cuomo’s name recognition and decades of experience. But in the run-up to Tuesday’s primary, the Democratic contest has tightened considerably.
