Edan Alexander Returns To Hometown Amid Joyous Welcome Edan Alexander, an American who was taken hostage during the Hamas attacks against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, has finally returned to his hometown of Tenafly, New Jersey. Hundreds lined the streets to welcome Alexander home, waving Israeli and American flags. Cheers erupted as his motorcade passed, with Alexander seen smiling, high-fiving supporters and “flashing a peace sign,” according to a Thursday CBS News report. Alexander endured close to 600 days in captivity, spending over a year as a hostage. Edan Alexander, an Israeli-American soldier in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), was seized by Hamas during the October 7 attacks.
