Paloma Shemirani, 23, died last July, just seven months after she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma and was told she had a high chance of survival with chemotherapy. Her siblings Gabriel and Sebastian blame their mother Kate — who rose to notoriety by claiming Covid was a hoax before being struck off as a registered nurse — for her death. Sebastian said: "My sister has passed away as a direct consequence of my mum's actions and beliefs and I don't want anyone else to go through the same pain or loss that I have." Kate, a former nurse who has been struck off for using her position to spread Covid misinformation, gained a large online following since she started a campaign of Covid scepticism during the pandemic.
