White House official claims Trump's nuclear strikes in Iran were 'pointless' and ordered by the 'deep state'

A White House official slammed Donald Trump's strikes on Iran as 'pointless' and only serving the 'deep state' - but quickly backtracked by deleting the posts and making his account private.

Andrew Kloster's comments came to light as Trump continued his tirade against negative coverage of the strikes on Iran's nuclear sites with an all-caps post to Truth Social defending them.

Kloster - the general counsel for the Office of Personnel Management - slammed the U.S. as giving 'handouts' to Israel and said fears of Iran getting a nuclear weapon were far-fetched.

An X user posted that 'Iran’s nuclear sites being crushed seems a long-term benefit for the US.'

Kloster responded from his now locked account: 'I just think it was kind of pointless.'

The White House official also retweeted Vish Burra, the former spokesperson for George Santos, who wrote: 'Can we please ignore this god-forsaken region of Earth and their tribal squabbles?'

Kloster eventually deleted the posts, including one writing: 'I apologize and will never again doubt the power of the deep state.'

The friendly fire came as the White House went on defense amid growing distress among MAGA over the effect of the strikes.
