Trump panic-called Pete Hegseth over Elon Musk's visit to Pentagon

Donald Trump shared details of a late-night phone call to Pete Hegseth after seeing a New York Times report about Elon Musk's visit to the Pentagon on Friday.

During an Oval Office briefing with Secretary of Defense Hegseth, President Trump criticized The New York Times over the article, calling the publication "the enemy of the people."

"He's (Elon) a great patriot. He's taken a big, a big price for helping us cut costs, and he's doing a great job. He's finding tremendous waste, fraud, and abuse. But I certainly wouldn't want you know Elon has businesses in China, and he would be susceptible, perhaps, to that, but it was such a fake story.
