Trump defends efforts to deport alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de AraguaPresident Donald Trump on Friday defended his efforts to deport alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua during a joint press briefing with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth who was there to discuss Boeing building the next-generation fighter jet, the F-47. "Many of these people were criminals," Trump said. "Many of them were from jails and prisons and mental institutions and gang members and drug dealers...really dangerous people." Trump referred to Tren de Aragua by the group's initials during the press briefing. The administration recently deported roughly 200 illegal migrants to El Salvador, including alleged members of Tren de Aragua, despite a judge blocking the flights. The White House objected that it defied orders by still sending the migrants to Venezuela.
