Sean Duffy Says Trump Admin Will Pull Funding From Cities With Unsafe Subways

Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy threatened to withhold federal funding for transportation from urban centers such as New York City if they can’t keep their public transportation systems “safe.”

Duffy told Fox News that the federal government provides New York City with money to keep the subway systems clean and secure but the city still falls short. Instead of prioritizing the subway, he said, the city allocates “billions of dollars” to illegal immigrants.

“It’s dangerous, it’s dirty and the city has spent billions of dollars on migrants in housing and feeding them and they can’t spend millions of dollars cleaning up their subways,” Duffy stated on Fox. “We give millions of dollars a year to the New York subway and part of the requirement is that they keep it safe.” (RELATED: Migrant Charged With Subway Murder Enjoys Three Hots And A Cot On Rikers Despite Adams’ ICE Handover Pledge)
