German drink-pouring humanoid robot butler eyes $1.2 billion push

The latest funding objectives on behalf of the company might shift depending on how the situation progresses, but what was a dream (or fear for some) of the future is a reality quickly approaching our doorstep: a cognitive robot that can make sandwiches and iron clothes.

NEURA robotics is set to introduce its humanoid product and new software applications at an event in Munich next week, Bloomberg reports.

The world’s first cognitive robot might just be German

Founded in 2019, NEURA Robotics, based in Metzingen, has positioned itself as a leader in the growing market of cognitive and humanoid robotics as the “only humanoid robotics company” in Germany, according to EU-Startups.

Last year, NEURA released a video of its six-foot-tall humanoid performing household chores such as pouring a cocktail and doing the laundry. David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, told EE News Europe that he believed cognitive robots would become bigger than smartphones or at least just as ubiquitous.
