Fox’s Peter Doocy Confronts Trump on Claim He’s Deporting Gang ‘Terrorists’: Why Don’t Cops ‘Shoot First Ask Questions Later’

Fox News Senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy challenged President Donald Trump over his claim that alleged Tren De Aragua gang members are foreign terrorists by asking why they aren’t being shot on sight like an ISIS terrorist would be.

Last weekend, Trump signed what the White House described as a “Proclamation Invoking the Alien Enemies Act regarding the Invasion of the United States by the Foreign Terrorist Organization Tren De Aragua,” which was used as the rationale for deportation flights that were halted by federal District Court Judge James Boasberg.

The Trump administration has not offered hard evidence establishing that all of the migrants on these flights were actually gang members. One man was deported over a soccer team logo tattoo.

Doocy pressed Trump on the issue as the president took questions during an Oval Office photo op and news conference with a clever question challenging the premise of the proclamation.

He noted that if ISIS terrorists were operating in the U.S., police “would probably be shooting first and asking questions later.”

Doocy then asked Trump “What is the difference between terrorists, between somebody like an ISIS or an Al Qaeda operative versus MS-13 or Tren De Aragua?”
