Donald Trump's Flurry of Legal Blows This Week

The Trump administration has been hit by a series of legal blows this week.

Federal judges have blocked some of President Donald Trump's key policies, prompting him to call for their impeachment.

Below are some of the prominent legal battles the president has faced this week.

El Salvador Deportations

On March 15, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington, D.C., told Department of Justice officials that a group of Venezuelan men should not be deported until he had considered the full facts of the case.

The men, who the Trump administration alleged were members of the Tren de Aragua gang, were deported to El Salvador that same day, sparking a crisis. Boasberg has spent this week trying to determine whether the Trump administration violated his court order.

Newsweek contacted the Justice Department on Friday for comment via email.

On Tuesday, Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social, that Boasberg should be impeached.

In a rare public statement, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts said federal judges should not be impeached for unfavorable decisions.

On Thursday, Boasberg accused the Department of Justice of having "evaded its obligations" to the court.

After hinting earlier in the week that he was considering contempt of court proceedings, Boasberg ordered the Justice Department to file a brief "showing
