'That's not the question': Vance won't say whether Trump achieved top Iran goal Vice President JD Vance attempted to move the goalposts during an appearance on Fox News' "Special Report with Bret Baier" when he was asked whether the Trump administration achieved its goals by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities. "The president has said [the strikes] totally obliterated the Iran nuclear program. Do you know for sure where all of the highly enriched uranium is?" Baier asked. "Well, Bret, I actually think that's not the question before us," Vance responded. "The question is, can Iran enrich uranium to a weapons-grade level, and can they convert that fuel to a nuclear weapon. "We know, based on the success of our mission, the leadership of our President, and the incredible skill of our military, that the two mission objectives are completely successful," Vance continued. The vice president's comments come as questions about the efficacy of the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities continue to swirl. Some experts have suggested that Trump's true motivation for striking Iran was political and not based solely on national security.
