'Horrifying': Trump nominee for lifetime post accused of being 'out of control' President Donald Trump’s nominee, Emil Bove, for a federal court judgeship, which is a lifetime appointment, is accused of being 'completely reckless and out of control' as principal associate deputy attorney general, according to a NPR report . Bove, a graduate from Georgetown University Law Center, has handled a slew of high profile cases while federal prosecutor, including one against Florida man, Cesar Sayoc. Sayoc allegedly sent bombs to Democratic politicians whom he considered Trump's enemies in 2018. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. However, it’s his more recent actions which has Democratic members of the Senate concerned NPR reports, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) “abandoned a conviction it won in a sanctions case after a judge found severe prosecutorial misconduct, including failures by Bove and others to properly supervise the trial team, which did not turn over material that would have been helpful to the defendant.” The outlet also reports the head of New York's federal public defenders has complained to SDNY officials. In a letter to lawmakers, Bove is accused of being “a prosecutor version of a drunk driver — completely reckless and out of control.” NPR says the federal public defender's head called the reports "pretty horrifying."
