MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow laid into the “extraordinary response” the Trump administration was forced to deploy after it was discovered that the massive dump of documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy contained the Social Security numbers of hundreds of congressional staffers.

“Now, after that ready, fire, aim routine, they're now trying to fix it,” Maddow said Thursday.

The MSNBC host, who appeared clearly exasperated from the latest flub to come out of President Donald Trump’s administration, told viewers during her show’s opening monologue that because of the mistake, the Social Security Administration has been directed to issue new Social Security numbers to the affected people.

She noted that the list of the Washington insiders affected includes “a former assistant secretary of state, a former U.S. ambassador, researchers in the intelligence world, state department workers, and prominent lawyers.”

“Just because they were on the assassinations committee doesn't mean they're not still alive and kicking,” Maddow said Thursday. “And now Donald Trump has ordered all of them to be very thoroughly doxxed, which, among other things, appears to be quite illegal.”
